The
first phase of the Hannibal Schools $23.5 million construction
project involves both the Fairley and Cayuga Street schools. The work
consists of 142,000 square feet of additions and approx. 100,000 sq.
feet of alterations. Visit the project's What's

New
construction involves two (2) two-story classroom additions, as well as gymnasiums and library additions at each
school.
The
Fairley Elementary school, which now offers grades K through 2 when
completed will house Kindergarten through 4th grade.
The
Kenney Elementary School now has grades 3 through 6. When completed it
will become a true Middle School for grades 5 through 8.
There
are ten (10) Prime Contracts for construction. The Project Architect is
James Jordan Associates of Richfield Springs, New York. The Construction
Manager is Gray Management Systems based in Phoenix, New York.
The
Sitework contract was awarded to the Barber Corporation of Mexico New
York in fall 2001. Sitework, which includes underground utilities,
parking areas, new septic systems and landscaping.
Building
construction began in late spring 2002 with final completion of
all work in late fall of 2003. The work will be done in phases,
generally with additions being done before major alterations in each
building.
