Research Project
Scientists have made significant contributions to the
quality of our lives and to the advancement of society. From the earliest discoveries to the cutting
edge research going on today, it is the people behind the ideas that are too
often the unsung heroes.
The research project will focus on the people who have
made advances in the areas of physics and technology. Each student will complete two research assignments during the
semester. The final presentation of the
research will be MS Power point based.
An oral presentation to the class will be a portion of the project grade
as well.
Project Outline:
ü Choose two scientists from the master list (from
different centuries)
ü Conduct research using three or more reference
materials to find:
Personal data- full name, life span dates, country, education, degrees, universities, etc.
Research focus- how, what,
when, where & why
Discovery(ies)- be specific! Give supporting information.
Discussion- Provide an overview of the relevance of the researcher’s work to the advancement of science, technology and/or society.
Bibliography- Cite sources used, make active links to any websites used as references.
Format of Each Report:
Reports must be a slide show using MS Power point or presented on an accessible website created by the student.
A minimum of 12 slides are
